Concerning this text, in khrid brgya'i brgyud pa'i lo rgyus kha skong, Jetsün Taranatha writes:
།དེ་ལ་ནེ་གུའི་གདམས་སྐོར་འདི་ཀུན་ནི། སྤྱིར་མདོ་རྒྱུད་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་དགོངས་པ། ཁྱད་པར་མཐར་ཐུག་སྟོན་པ་རྒྱུད་སྡེ་ལྔའི་སྙིང་པོ། ཡང་སྒོས་ཐུན་མོང་མ་ཡིན་པ། སྡོམ་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་དང་། རིན་ཆེན་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་སྙིང་པོ་ཁོལ་ཕྱུང་དུ་བཞེད་དོ།
"This cycle of all of Niguma's instructions in general maintains the perspective of all sutras and tantras. In particular, it is the heart of the ultimate teachings of the five tantra classes. Even more particularly, and extraordinarily, it is believed to have extracted the essence of the Śaṃvara Ocean (Tantra) and Jewel Ocean (Tantra)". In ni gu chos drug gi zhal shes kyi lhan thabs, Gyeltsen Bum (or Sangyé Tönpa?) writes:
ཆོས་དྲུག་འདི་ན་རོ་པའི་བཞེད་ཀྱིས། །མ་རྒྱུད་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་སྙིང་པོ་བསྡུས་པ། །དེ་ལས་ཀྱཻ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་མན་ངག་ཏུ་བཞེད། །ནི་གུ་མའི་བཞེད་ཀྱིས་ཕ་བརྒྱུད་༼མ་བརྒྱུད་༽ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་སྙིང་པོ་ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་བསྡུས་པ་ཁྱད་པར་དུ་རིན་ཆེན་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་རྒྱུད་ལ་བརྟེན་པར་བཞེད་དོ། །རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་གསུང་གིས་གསང་འདུས་ལེའུ་བཅོ་ལྔ་པ་ལས་རྨི་ལམ་གྱིས་འོད་གསལ་གྱིས་ཆོས་མང་དུ་བྱས་པས་ཟིན་པོ་གསང་འདུས་ཆེ་བར་འདུག་གསུངས།
"The six dharmas, according to Naropa's position, are the collected essence of all mother tantras, and of those are considered to be from the esoteric instructions of Hevajra. According to the Niguma position, they are the essence of all the father tantras condensed in one direction. In particular, they are based on the Jewel Ocean Tantra. According to Rinpoché, there are many teachings on dream and lucid clarity from the fifteenth chapter (or fifteen chapters) of Guhyasamāja, so the primary source is said to be Guhyasamāja".
